The Assassin’s Guide to Going Clean

Two female leads, happy ending, alternate ancient setting, a sweet little detective tale.

A beautiful, wise, sharp-tongued, baiting Eldest Princess X a deeply affectionate assassin who has been killing fish for ten years yet is still easy to hook.

Lin Shanjuan, the top assassin in Hushi, had looks and ability that were both top-notch, with only one flaw: terrible luck. Not only was she brought to Jing State by a muddled system, she also has to fulfill the Eldest Princess’s wish before she can return to the modern world.

Qi Zhaomian is the most noble woman in Jing State. She not only has stunning beauty, but also excels at schemes and mind games; her reputation, however, is not good at all.

The common people say she remarried four times in succession, is a famous widow-maker of a princess, slaughtered the innocent indiscriminately, was moody and cruel, and even kept male favorites in her residence. Truly a venomous snake-hearted woman, shameless and fickle.

In order to get close to Qi Zhaomian and fulfill her wish, Lin Shanjuan eagerly puts on a good show and wholeheartedly helps her solve problems.

But she doesn’t know that the princess’s wish had already changed from the start: from guarding the land to lying in the same coffin with her and growing old together.

“Since you helped This Palace a great deal, of course This Palace should reward you.”

“Then how about... I become your guard?”

“This Palace doesn’t lack guards. It lacks a consort.”

“And not just any consort—a female consort.”

Qi Zhaomian suspected Lin Shanjuan was deliberately approaching her, perhaps acting under orders from someone who wanted her dead.

If there was a hidden danger, of course she should keep it close and watch it!

Only, as she watched and watched... why did this person look more and more pleasing to the eye?

She once thought the best ending for her life was simply watching her younger brother firmly take the throne and safeguarding the realm.

But later, someone cut through thorns and brambles for her, shielded her from storms of blood and rain, and accompanied her in admiring mountains and rivers.

Lin shen ji ji cui shan juan, yue qing yang yang zhao ren mian.
