Siheyuan: Why Does Your Grandfather Hit You Every Day, Shazhu?

Good news: he was reborn, and it’s the Courtyard Houses world.

Bad news: he became He Yuzhu’s grandfather, and also the ancestor of the courtyard!

Right now it’s 1952. He Daqing hasn’t run off with the widow yet, He Yuzhu is still learning to cook at Fengze Garden, and He Yushui is only five years old.

There’s no “uncle” system in the courtyard yet, the neighborhood office is still called the military control office, and Qin Huairu hasn’t married into the courtyard either.

He Baocai acts decisively: he changes He Yuzhu’s age, cuts Qin Huairu off first, and brings her into the He family to work like an ox and a horse!

The deaf old lady wants to eat dishes made by He Yuzhu? Ten yuan a dish, fair for all ages; if you want to eat, pay first!

Yi Zhonghai tries moral blackmail? By seniority, you have to call me Uncle He!

He Daqing wants to elope with the widow? Close the door, release He Yuzhu—the people of the He family should stay together!

With Old He in charge, none of the courtyard’s little pests will be able to stir up trouble!
