The Taste of Being a Widow Is Somehow Deadingly Sweet!

Historical Romance · Comedy · Romance Fantasy

Empress Dowager + enemy emperor turned cat

On the first day after transmigrating, Feng Zhao is told that her husband is dead—and that she has also been given a child.

How do you skip the man and still end up with a child? Feng Zhao thinks she has managed exactly that.

She thought she had drawn the widow script and would coast all the way to becoming empress dowager, but instead the system wants her to pioneer territory, raise a child, and rule from behind the curtain.

Being a villainous empress dowager is not easy, raising the little one is not easy either, and also, why is the pet cat she is keeping getting stranger and stranger?

Xie Chen is the emperor of a nation. Through a twist of fate, his soul is injected into a cat and taken to an enemy country, where he becomes the pampered pet in the hands of that nation’s empress dowager.

His life as a cat is bleak and miserable. He swears to destroy Cangyun Kingdom and annex it into his own lands. But then the beautiful young widow who takes him in treats him rather well?

Wait, where is she touching? Doesn’t she know a tiger’s... no, a kitty’s tail cannot just be touched casually?

The more Xie Chen looks at the widow, the more pleasing she seems, so pleasing that he wants to abduct her back home and make her his empress. They would not even need to have a son then—how nice!

[Several years later]

Feng Zhao hears the soldiers report: “Your Majesty the Empress Dowager, this is terrible! The enemy emperor is challenging us at the gates and is about to attack!”

“Do not panic. Ready the three armies!”

“The enemy emperor says he is not here to fight. He says he has come to offer mountains and rivers as a betrothal gift and marry Your Majesty the Empress Dowager!”

Feng Zhao: “Where is my blade?”

A certain bargain son: “Did either of you ask for my opinion?”

The son is not blood-related to either the male or female lead. Double clean, 1v1. Strong heroine + palace struggle + political intrigue + child-raising + adorable child + cat-like male lead winning himself over.
