The Imperial Uncle

“Qingyi, you’ve had a hard time all this while.

But don’t forget this.

This king will sincerely take Qingyi as his wife.”

Gao Qingyi is loudly broken off from her engagement by her cheating fiancé, King Zhenbei, who insults her by saying she has no merits except for her pretty face.

It feels satisfying to expose his faults in front of the emperor’s uncle as a witness and end the engagement cleanly, but she never expected that the emperor’s uncle, famous for being indifferent to women and brutally cruel, would propose to her.

“Why did the emperor’s uncle suddenly propose?”

“Well... I heard that the emperor’s uncle has long had you in his heart.

But since you already had a betrothed, he couldn’t express his feelings.”

The excuse was absurd and impossible to believe, but in the end Gao Qingyi becomes betrothed to Song Fengwu for the sake of her family.

Contrary to the rumors that she is ignorant, she improves grain varieties and strengthens military power, becoming Song Fengwu’s reliable helper, and the two are shown doting on and cherishing each other so much that they become the envy of everyone around them...

“Even a long, long life will feel short if I spend it with you.

So in difficult times too, let us not let go of the hand we have taken.”
