Old Matters of the Nine Gates

Retired soldier Hu Guohua, a distant cousin of Hu Bayi, is forced to get involved in an earth-shaking conspiracy in order to uncover the truth behind his father’s bizarre death.

From the inverted Xixia "underground city" in the Helan Mountains to a Western Zhou corpse-immortal altar beneath the Kunlun glaciers, he gradually discovers that the "Ice Abyss accident" he experienced three years ago is closely linked to a forbidden ritual from a thousand years ago that reversed life and death, along with the old affairs of the Nine Gates.
