My Father, Liu Bingyi

Reborn in Western Han, my father is Emperor Xuan of Han, Liu Bingyi.

He rose from prison, grew up among the common people, endured and built up his strength, and suppressed Huo Guang with superior authority.

He ruled with both the rule of law and hegemony, brought order to officialdom, pacified the Western Regions, and subdued the Xiongnu. With a single hand, he created the Western Han dynasty’s most prosperous golden age, truly a sage ruler for the ages.

And I am the son of Xu Pingjun, the woman he never forgot—Liu Shi.

In my previous life I was weak and fond of Confucianism, indulged eunuchs in politics, and personally ruined the foundation of Han’s revival.

Now that I’ve lived again, inside the crown prince’s palace and backed by my father, a supreme emperor of all ages, I will never repeat my old mistakes.

I will control the court, suppress imperial in-laws, rein in eunuchs, reform officialdom, strengthen the frontiers, and cut off the barbarians’ path to China with my own hands, so that the Han people may be forever freed from the fate of invasion and slaughter by foreign tribes. I will inherit Emperor Xuan’s great achievements and forge everlasting glory for the Han dynasty!
