Knife-Hawker

A blade lender, historically verifiable since the Song Dynasty. In the earliest records, blade lenders were not yet called blade lenders; they were called bǔmài.

Their blades are never sold, only lent on credit, but when they are lent out, the lender leaves behind a prophecy. When that prophecy comes true on the day they specify, they come back to collect the money.

"Two years from now you'll be blessed with a son. Leave this pair of scissors for now, and I'll come back to collect the money then."

"Keep going down the path you're on now, and in a year there will definitely be a turning point. Keep this kitchen knife for now, and when you soar to success, I'll come back to collect the money."

"Five years from now your village will face a famine. Keep this kitchen knife for now, and when you're going hungry, I'll come back."

From ancient times to the present, blade lenders have left behind countless unbelievable prophecies, and yet not a single one has ever fallen through.
