In This Sweltering Summer, We Fall in Love

Hot Summer Romance

[Light ensemble cast · Sweet and flirtatious · Pure and mutual pursuit]

[Cool, slightly rebellious girl VS a roguish, slightly sharp-tongued young master]

Bian Xu has the face of someone who plays around with the world. His blue-and-white dyed hair is rebellious and unruly, and the three rows of black studs on his ear cartilage glint with light. He gives off a free and unrestrained aura, and is a long-time fixture on the forum of No. 1 High School.

Lin Tingxia has excellent grades. After transferring to No. 1 High School, she becomes famous on her first day because of her extraordinarily beautiful face, and somehow ends up connected to Bian Xu.

The first time they meet is not pleasant.

The boy has just finished a fight and is in a bad mood. Lin Tingxia passes by and kindly offers him a bandage, only for the boy to lift his eyelids, his eyes cold and faint, and say, “Do I know you?”

Later, at the school’s New Year performance, Bian Xu performs onstage for the first time in front of everyone.

With a voice that is alluring and a tone that is bewitching, the boy holds a guitar in his hands.

His gaze passes through the crowd, seeing only her.

“Lin Tingxia.”

“Happy New Year, and—”

“I like you.”

At the beginning of the new year,

Lin Tingxia receives a video from a friend and clicks it open.

Inside a dim private room, the man’s expression is indifferent as he leans lazily on the sofa, gently swirling a wine glass in his hand.

Someone teases, “How come we never see you dating?”

“I’m waiting.”

“Waiting for what?”

“Waiting for summer.”

His friend asks in confusion, “Didn’t you say you hate summer the most?”

The man gives a light laugh, and his clear, lazy voice sinks into Lin Tingxia’s heart.

“Before, yes. Not now.”

“Why?”

“Because she said—”

“We will fall in love in the height of summer.”

Deep in the forest I meet summer; in the wind, I tell of cicadas’ song.

I love you, not just for one season.
