While on a test voyage aboard a pioneer ship built to explore space, the protagonist and his group are thrown into the wrong dimension by a distortion in time and space.

After a great deal of hardship, they manage to return to Earth, only to find that due to the temporal distortion it is not the year 2080 when they left, but the middle of the 14th century.

To understand the situation, they land on the old land of Goryeo, see the impoverished lives of the common people there, and resolve to devote themselves to helping them.

This is the story of the protagonist, who struggles to stand with the powerless, suffering people and create a prosperous Goryeo Empire, and of the common people of Goryeo who change along with him.
