Fengshen: In the Beginning, I Betray Xiqi, I Hold Mianchi to the Death

Investiture of the Gods · Defection from Xiqi · Decisive Killing · System · Jiejiao

Shen Wei transmigrates into the world of Investiture of the Gods and, by a twist of fate, becomes Jiang Ziya’s disciple. Starting as an unknown nobody in Xiqi, he fights his way up until he becomes the vanguard grand marshal.

He originally thought that by helping Xiqi conquer Shang and accumulating merit and fortune, he could fight for a chance to become a god in the flesh during the Great Calamity of Investiture.

But when the five passes have all been broken and Chaoge is right ahead, what awaits him is not reward.

His elite cavalry is taken away, his military authority stripped, Yijiang, the woman he loved for ten years, becomes King Ji Fa’s queen, and even his master Jiang Ziya personally cooperates with Ji Fa to seize his power and force him to accept his fate.

After ten years of war, he was nothing more than a pawn to be discarded once used.

Just as Shen Wei completely breaks with Xiqi, the system that was ten years late finally awakens.

[Choice One: Bow your head and accept your fate. Hand over the tiger tally, lay down your armor and be ennobled, withdraw from the Great Calamity of Investiture from this day forward, retire to the mountains and forests, and enjoy a lifetime of worldly wealth and glory. Reward: one Nine Revolutions Golden Pill! High-grade postnatal spirit treasure — Xuanyuan Heart-Guarding Mirror!]

[Choice Two: Reject heaven’s mandate, defect from Xiqi, sever the bond of master and disciple, and from this day onward go against the great tide of Zhou’s conquest, obstructing the heavenly destiny of Investiture! Reward: Chaos Demon Body! Innate supreme treasure — Godslaying Spear!]

[Choose to defend Mianchi. Reward: Great Dao-level Chaos Great Dao Scripture, Twelve Capital Gods and Fiends Formation!]

From then on, Shen Wei holds Mianchi, slaughters Chanjiao, gathers the fortune of Great Shang, and the former grand commander of Xiqi becomes the strongest fortress standing in Ji Fa’s path.

Jiang Ziya: “Shen Wei, heaven’s mandate lies with Zhou. You cannot stop it!”

Holding the Godslaying Spear, Shen Wei raises the Twelve Capital Gods and Fiends Formation behind him until it towers into the heavens.

“Heaven’s mandate?”

“Then today, I will shatter this so-called heaven’s mandate!”
