Yuri, the spirit with nine lives, had been trapped for a thousand years by Ningwang. One day, a man appears inside the barrier that no one but Ningwang can enter.

The man, who had shown no interest in Yuri when she was in cat form, discovers the little bell called Sosoryeong hanging from Yuri’s wrist after she manifests in human form.

Yuri tries to use the man’s life to escape the barrier, but ends up using one of her own lives instead and disappearing. The man takes Yuri’s Sosoryeong with him.

After reincarnating and being revived, Yuri heads toward the demon realm to avoid Ningwang, only to run into the “man who appeared in the barrier” again. She then learns that he is actually the sacred sovereign Hocheon of the demon realm.
