Yin Xiu has lived in Rule Town for six years.

Ordinary players who enter this place follow the rules carefully and grind instances nonstop, struggling to survive. Yin Xiu is the only one who spends every day staying in town instead of going out, not clearing instances, not getting involved with strange horrors, fishing lazily through life every day, even starting retirement early.

The town's horrors have also been eyeing him for six years, grinding their performance metrics all this time yet never managing to claim him. They watch him wander around right in front of them every day, but against this man who knows the rules by heart, they can do absolutely nothing.

A few days later, heavy rain falls over the town, and a new batch of newcomers arrives. That very night, a mysterious man stuffed into Yin Xiu's house as his roommate accomplishes what the town's horrors could not manage in six years—he drags Yin Xiu into a rule-based instance.

That night, the town's horrors celebrate wildly in a group: Hooray! We finally sent that slacker retiree away!

At the same time, the instance horrors begin to howl: Who dragged in that man who slaughtered his way through all the instances six years ago?! We worked so hard back then just to drive him out!!!

After entering the instance, Yin Xiu is utterly uninterested. Holding a knife, he glances around him. "Same old thing. Nothing new. I'm leaving. Speedrun it and get back to retirement."

The instance horrors all let out a long breath of relief, just about to celebrate at halftime, when a row of twisted blood-red words suddenly appears before Yin Xiu.

Do you think I'm new enough?

A sticky, freezing chill descends over the entire instance in an instant. Horrors and players alike begin to panic.

"It" has come out.
