Records of Tang: Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi

He was an aggrieved emperor. Because his father, Li Shimin, and his wife, Wu Zetian, were too famous, he was dismissed with a single label: the "mediocre and timid ruler," and the impact he had on the Tang Dynasty was downplayed. But historical reality is far more complex and changeable. Let us return to the magnificent Tang. This book presents the most authentic Li Zhi: an emperor who controlled the overall situation and saw through everything; an era centered on him, with Wu Zetian as support; an age of expansion and countless military exploits.
